What is
Contemporary?
Contemporary uses a range of movement qualities, directions and levels. Dancers explore floor work, weight, strength and changes in energy, using technical foundations to try different approaches to choreography and expression.
Where does it come to life?
A contemporary piece might move from stillness to powerful travelling movement, or from standing to the floor. Dancers use these contrasts to communicate ideas on stage and learn to adapt when a choreographer asks them to move in an unfamiliar way.

Performance Troupe options are listed from 8/u to Open Age. Two ballet classes are required for Contemporary. The teaching team confirms placement.
