Lyrical combines jazz-based technique with expressive movement. Dancers explore the phrasing and feeling of a piece of music, connecting steps with a sense of flow. Expression grows from how they use their whole body, not only their face.

Where does it come to life?

In a dance concert, a Lyrical routine can communicate a mood or story without spoken dialogue. Learning to respond to changes in music also helps a dancer make thoughtful choices about timing, energy and expression in other choreography.
