Your child’s first dance experience should be full of discovery, encouragement and fun. Ready Set Dance at Planetdance brings dance, music and play together for children aged 2 to 5, helping them build confidence, coordination and creativity in a welcoming environment. Alongside Ready Set Dance, our preschool program offers Ready Set Ballet and Ready Set Acro — with caring teachers who help every child find their feet.

Children can begin from age two. Our 2–4 classes welcome younger preschoolers, while Pre Kindy in 2027 is for children starting primary school in 2028. A combined 3–5 option and afternoon no-tap sessions are available where shown on the timetable.
A playful way to learn
Music, movement and imagination make every class an adventure. Children explore themed dances, sing along, play with props and discover new ways to move. Familiar songs and playful activities keep little ones engaged while they practise listening, taking turns and joining in with friends.
Behind the fun is purposeful learning. Age-appropriate movements help children develop balance, coordination and body control, from jumping and skipping to following a short dance sequence. Rainbow ribbons, parachutes and imaginative play give them space to express their own ideas, too.

Confidence grows through small moments: joining an activity independently, remembering a favourite move or feeling ready to try something new. Our teachers encourage children at their own pace, celebrate their efforts and help them feel proud of what they can do.
Milestone charts help you see the skills your child is working towards. Alongside dance and coordination, we celebrate the everyday progress that matters — listening to an instruction, waiting for a turn and becoming comfortable in a group.

Our Ready Set Dance teachers are trained and certified to deliver the program and hold current Working with Children Checks. They bring energy, patience and encouragement to class, helping children feel welcome, supported and excited to return.
Before your first lesson, our team explains what to bring and helps you prepare. Teachers introduce themselves and guide your child through the room, routines and activities. If your child feels shy, we work with you to help them settle in — there is room to build confidence at their own pace.
Share the moments
Planetdance is a community where children can make friends, feel included and look forward to their class each week. We want you to feel comfortable asking questions and confident that your child is known and cared for.
Watching opportunities and celebrations let you share in their learning and see how far they have come. For children who would enjoy a moment on stage, the end-of-year preschool concert is an optional opportunity to perform and celebrate with their classmates.
When it is time for school
Their dance journey can grow with them. Mini Recreational offers a welcoming way to keep exploring dance, while Kindergarten Performance Troupe is another pathway for children ready for a team performance experience.
Our team can help you compare the classes and choose a suitable next step based on your child’s interests and readiness. The aim is to keep their enjoyment, friendships and confidence growing as they move into school.

What if my child is shy?
Children settle at different rates. Our teachers help them become familiar with the room, routines and classmates, with encouragement to participate at their own pace.
Which group should we choose?
Tell reception your child’s age and when they will start school. Pre Kindy in 2027 means starting primary school in 2028.
Can we try a class?
Reception can help arrange a paid trial and explain what to bring. Sending an enquiry does not confirm a booking.
